The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal generally hears those matters where the amount in dispute does not exceed $50,000.

If the amount in dispute is greater than $50,000 then the claimant has the option of the matter being determined by the Tribunal or the Supreme Court.  (Refer s.81).

If the claimant does not exercise this option within one month of being requested to do so, then the Authority has the option of determining where the matter will be heard.
